Windlehurst School provides school places for children with an EHC plan stating Social Emotional and mental Health needs for the Stockport Metropolitan Borough. We have 2 sites within the Stockport Borough supporting 48 secondary school age pupils.

We are a unique school offering vocational and academic qualifications to enable all our pupils’ successful outcomes.

We aim to provide a safe, caring environment where all achievement is valued and celebrated.

Here at Windlehurst all staff strive to provide… ‘strong vision for the future of the school which is shared by leaders and staff.’ ‘Positive relationships between pupils and staff are nurtured and valued.’ ‘Pupils say that they feel safe, secure and well cared for in school.’ (Ofsted May 2019)

We achieve this through our 4 core values
Respect – for each other, for ourselves and for the environment we are in

Courage – within ourselves; to embrace new challenges, to succeed

Inspire – ourselves and others around us to achieve

Achieve – value and celebrate successes

Stockport Foodbank - supporting families during the Christmas break

Dear parents/ Carers,

As we head towards the Christmas holidays we wanted to reassure you that we

are here to help our pupils and their families who are going to struggle during the

break. Families do not need to be in receipt of means tested free school meals or

other benefits to access help, they are there for anyone who is struggling to

afford food for whatever reason.

If you think you may struggle financially over the holidays, please contact

Ms McAleer or Mr Cahill on 0161 427 4788 or email

parentcontact@windlehurst.stockport.sch.uk

The vouchers can be redeemed at any of the eight centres, where you will receive

a generous food parcel tailored to their family size and dietary requirements.

Our parcels now contain bread and fresh fruit and vegetables as available. We

can also provide nappies, sanitary products, toiletries and pet food on request.

Too Good To Go!

There is an APP that allows users to buy bags of food at massively discounted

prices, usually between £2.50 and £4.50.  Lots of supermarkets, pubs, fast food

Ofsted Report

Following our Ofsted inspection at the beginning of March, we have now received

our official report.

We are very pleased with the positive feedback we received following the inspection

and of this report. It is a real credit to the hard work of staff and pupils that this reads

so well and we definitely have a school that we should all be very proud of.
